About the role

This position is located in the Museum and Library Services and serves as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist. The incumbent is responsible for managing the OCIO and IT security to ensure the integrity, reliability, accessibility, and confidentiality of information systems and assets, and are responsible for advancing the infrastructure modernization as IMLS assesses having geographically dispersed personnel and a hybrid work environment. In addition to the Basic Experience requirements above, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) expertise in effectively guiding the translation of mission, goals, and strategies into programs, projects, and processes within broad organizational (e.g., federal, state, private industry, etc.) context; (2) expert level of analytical skills and abilities to assess the effects of legislative, regulatory, and compliance programs on agency strategies, policies, and operations; (3) experience developing comprehensive programs to improve productivity, cost effectiveness, and efficiency of organization activities; (4) expert experience in providing oversight and direction for the delivery of IT services and coordinating a wide range of technical and service-oriented IT duties in support of agency operations and program-wide IT projects and other initiatives. NOTES: Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
