About the role

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by receiving, stocking and delivery of supplies and equipment in a timely efficient manner to ensure availability for proper patient care. Job Description Job Duties/Essential Functions Job Duties May receive supplies and equipment in an accurate, efficient manner. Stocks supplies in the central storeroom in proper locations. May deliver non-stock items to the requesting areas. Accurately pulls and delivers stock supplies to requesting areas utilizing Kanban cards, computer requisitions or other means of requisition. May document returns to ensure inventory accuracy of stock supplies. May work with purchasing staff to keep storeroom inventory at accurate, proper, cost effective levels. May work with patient care areas to keep their supply inventories at proper cost effective levels. Visually inspect all incoming items for count and damage. Accurately fill out receiving document and enter into MMIS system. Accurately scan packing list and delivery document into appropriate files for storage. Work with Manager and departments to keep dock area uncluttered, accessible and safe. Maintain neatness and cleanliness of work area. Operate pallet jack properly for safe and efficient transport of supplies and equipment throughout the facility. Prepare outgoing shipments for pickup by carrier. Fill out proper paperwork/computer info to ensure routine pickup and delivery by preferred carrier. Maintain efficiency in using MMIS system to access necessary data and troubleshoot as needed. Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read and write. Computer entry. Count and maintain inventory accuracy. Proper telephone courtesy. Use of pallet jacks, carts, flat-beds, freight elevator to move supplies and equipment. Good communication skills. Work with interruptions and multi-tasks.
