About the role

The District Programme Coordinator, under the overall supervision of Deputy Director-TB, PATH, direct supervision of the Project Lead, PATH and under the guidance of the respective District TB Officer, Mumbai, will provide district-level coordination and oversight of project implementation in the assigned districts of Mumbai (Govandi, Sion, and Kurla). Two District Programme Coordinators will share responsibilities across the three intervention districts, working closely with DTOs, NTEP teams, Ni-kshay operators, and private providers to operationalize virtual TPT clinics, diagnostic services, drug refills, and courier pilots. S/he will lead district review meetings, support data validation and troubleshooting, and ensure daily coordination across hubs, spokes, and district teams to achieve project milestones and ensure seamless service delivery. Specific roles of this position include: Serve as the district-level focal point for project implementation in assigned districts of Mumbai, coordinating with District TB Officers, Senior Treatment Supervisors (STS), and Ni-kshay operators. Support introductory meetings with District NTEP officials to formalize district-level technical support and develop operational plans aligned with state priorities. Participate in project orientation sessions and district-level kick-off meetings, providing logistical support and ensuring participation of district stakeholders. Conduct private provider mapping and readiness audits in assigned Mumbai districts, visiting 30 potential health facilities over 15 days to assess operational capacity, digital connectivity, and willingness to participate. Support formalization of engagement with private providers through on-site clinical induction and facilitation of NTEP certification for TPT clinics in assigned districts. Coordinate deployment and operationalization of the virtual TPT clinic tool across 5-6 TPT clinics per district, ensuring provider onboarding and daily utilization. Oversee coordination with diagnostic service providers including portable digital X-ray teams, IGRA/NAAT laboratories, ensuring timely scheduling, sample collection, result reporting, and linkage to TPT initiation. Monitor TPT drug supply chain at district level, tracking stock positions at facility level, coordinating drug refills with NTEP supplies, and troubleshooting supply disruptions. Support pilot implementation of doorstep TPT delivery through e-pharmacy partners, coordinating beneficiary enrollment, package handover, and monitoring delivery success rates. Mobilize private providers to participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions, arranging local travel support and ensuring attendance. About the project: PIVOT-TPT The PIVOT-TPT (Private provider-led Integrated Virtual & Outreach for TPT) is a TIFA (Tuberculosis Implementation Framework Agreement) Health Commitment Grant supported project with PATH providing technical assistance to NTEP (National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme). The project aims to demonstrate a digitally enabled, private provider-led model that expands access to both facility-based and home-based Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) services for household contacts (HHCs) of persons with TB (PwTB) seeking care in the private sector, ensuring high initiation and completion rates in alignment with NTEP guidelines. The project will provide technical assistance to demonstrate across three high-burden districts of Mumbai (Govandi, Sion and Kurla) in Maharashtra and two aspirational districts of Odisha (Kalahandi and Koraput), having substantial gaps in systematic contact listing and TPT initiation in private sector. The model integrates virtual TPT clinics, tele-consultation, standardized digital screening workflows, mobile diagnostic services, and doorstep delivery of TPT medicines to strengthen the identification, screening, and initiation of eligible household contacts on TPT. The project will operate under NTEP stewardship and leverage national digital platforms such as Ni-kshay and TB Arogya Saathi, engaging private hospitals and clinics, district and state NTEP teams, PPSA partners, digital and logistics agencies, and household contacts of TB patients to ensure seamless coordination and accountability throughout the TPT cascade.
