About the role

About You The Lecturer will contribute to the intellectual life of the Institute and wider institution. They will make contributions to student education and experience through curriculum development and the delivery of teaching activities in the subject area of dental hygiene-therapy, with the assistance of the other Dental Therapy/Hygiene teaching staff. About the School/Department/Institute/Project The Institute of Dentistry has been conducting internationally recognised research in oral and dental sciences in Whitechapel for more than a century and is consistently rated in the top 20 QS Dental School rankings. The IoD research environment is considered as excellent (4*) as assessed in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework. Furthermore, the IoD research structure provides a seamless pathway for translational and clinical research. IoD has a long and proud history of providing internationally renowned taught programmes and currently offers two undergraduate programmes and 19 Post graduate taught programmes which include eight specialty training programmes in most dental disciplines, with a combined cohort of c500 students. In 2014 we opened the first new dental school and hospital in the UK for 40 years, the stunning £78m Royal London Dental Hospital, incorporating some of the most technologically advanced dental facilities in the country. Furthermore, we have invested 1.8 million in haptic technology, with 42 Simodont haptic dental trainers the most simulators in the world, with dedicated space and staff to support this type of enhanced learning.
