Job Summary: Trained in operating and coordinating transmission system activities to ensure cost effective, reliable, and efficient energy production, while preparing and executing emergency outages under the supervision of a certified Transmission Operator. Applies sound judgment to adapt operational methods and resolve routine situations, consulting supervisors only for new or complex scenarios to support achievement of performance goals. Job Description: Under the direct supervision of a Senior Transmission Operator: Plans, coordinates, and controls switching operations to maintain system frequency and safe operating limits, communicating required actions to the Distribution Operation Center and Transmission Shift Engineer. Plans, coordinates, and executes system startups, shutdowns, synchronizations, and emergency or scheduled outages to support maintenance, repairs, and operational reliability. Monitors system performance using control center instruments and the Energy Management System to verify energy levels, identify faults, and recommend corrective actions. Prepares reports and logs operational events, provides technical guidance to supervisors, and ensures all activities follow established procedures, policies, and regulations. Exercises authority during system emergencies, including removing equipment from service or shedding load, and participates in storm restoration efforts and ongoing training. Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations. Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services. Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility. Additional Job Description: Education Associate Degree in Electrical or Electronic Technology.
