About the Position: Serves as the C-UXS expert for HQ USAFRICOM (J-3/J-34), mitigating UXS threats to forces and missions. Tasked with ensuring capability resilience by synchronizing DoD security and risk management programs with mission execution. Acts as the primary staff focal point for Geographic Combatant Command coordination, integrating all theater requirements to meet C-UXS objectives and protect critical assets. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level which includes operational and/or strategic staff level experience with Counter Unmanned Systems, deployment of security systems, and conducting studies and problem analyses to develop recommendations. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
