About the role

You will serve as Head of the Platform Noise Branch (Code 724) of the Acoustic Technology Development Division (Code 72) of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13) level in the Federal service demonstrating a progressively responsible career combining expert-level technical knowledge in naval acoustics with proven leadership and program management capabilities. Experience must not be purely academic or theoretical; it must show tangible application to naval platforms and warfighting challenges. The candidate should possess a deep knowledge of the physical mechanisms of noise generation internal and external hull components, onboard machinery and structural vibration (structural acoustics).
