Education Account Specialist

About the role

This role is a principal selling agent for VAI Education's teacher and student products and services. Achieve short- and long-term objectives, including discovering new customers and increasing market share within existing markets. This is a salary position that is a blend of inside and outside sales. FUNCTIONS Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals. Develop and nurture user relationships with decision makers, including teachers, school principals, superintendents, and district administrators. Educate potential users and community members about innovative teacher and student programs. Create and execute strategic territory expansion plans. Provide accurate forecasts and activity reporting. Participate in network-building opportunities, including conferences, events, speaking engagements, and industry/company functions. Support sold events as needed. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts degree in education or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in a consultative K-12 educational environment.
• Demonstrated record in developing new business, building strong relationships, and meeting goals and objectives.
• Classroom teaching experience and familiarity with project-based learning are a plus.
• An entrepreneurial attitude, with the ability to roll up sleeves and get things done swiftly.
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of the education market and basic knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
