As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for; Driving new product development & innovation activities. Identifying and exploring new product concepts/features/user experiences for the controller gaming category Playing a leading role in a cross-functional team to design and develop these from product front end to successful mass production in the far east As a key member of the Logitech gaming team, the candidate is responsible for combining engineering expertise, testing and a relentless pursuit of creating the best products and experiences that are sold around the world. The ability to do 3D molding and apply scientific approaches & analysis tools to create robust mechanical designs for volume mass production is required. In this role you will: As a key member of the Gaming ME team, you will be responsible for ideating, exploring & prototyping mechanical & electromechanical solution concepts that transform user experiences. Along with delivering mechanical product designs for gaming products, from the Product Front End through product development and into successful mass production. You will also contribute to innovation and technology programs to enable gaming product evolution. Job description: Development of user centric gaming products (PC & Console Controllers) and participate in the development of User Experience (UX) research to develop customer focussed products Develop product architectures and new technology concepts Work with Industrial Designers, and product development teams to define and develop products from concept to Mass Production Lead & support innovation activities in the gaming controller product category an d continuous improvement/advancement of Engineering capabilities Build mechanical/electro-mechanical proof of concepts to evaluate UX, function, manufacturability, and/or robustness Ensure high quality robust design of complex mechanical systems and components using tools such as dFMEA, QFD and FEA simulation Analyse data generated from pilot builds and lab experiments Perform tolerance analyses to verify performance of mechanisms and cosmetic specifications in the presence of high volume dimensional variation Detailed 3D design and 2D documentation of all parts and assemblies Interacting with vendors as well as internal Manufacturing, Supply Chain, NPI and Supplier Quality Engineering groups to develop manufacturing processes & tooling Define reliability testing requirements and equipment Strong knowledge and experience in rapid prototyping, functional lab testing of concepts and analysis of test data Optimise designs for performance, quality and cost Key Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/mechatronics/Electro - Mechanical Engineering (or similar) For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team: 5+ years experience in mechanical design/development of high volume consumer electronic products Detailed knowledge of plastics injection moulding and tooling, assembly process, cosmetic finishes & defect analysis Hard plastic, soft plastic, metal process Post treatment Fluent in Design/Development process and tools of high volume manufacturing Fluent in Pro/Engineer or similar 3D CAD package including Advanced Surfacing Strong knowledge in ANSYS simulation software Highly skilled in problem solving & risk management 'Design Thinking' mindset Strong Communication skills with experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams Experience of stakeholder management Proven ability of speaking up an
