Location: West Hollywood, CA Position Summary The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting the provider in delivering exceptional clinical care while ensuring each patient feels informed, comfortable, and well-supported throughout their visit. This position is ideal for an individual who values both clinical excellence and a high-touch patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment with full procedural readiness for gynecologic procedures (IUD kits, biopsy instruments, culture swabs, colposcopy setup if applicable
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection (required)
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient medical histories, including gynecologic history (cycle tracking, perimenopausal symptoms, contraceptive history, sexual health history, pelvic pain, bleeding patterns, and PMS/PMDD screening)
• Educate patients on procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care, including coordinating lab orders and assisting with specimen collection.
• Manage clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with front desk and administrative staff
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA regulations
• Sterilize, process, and maintain clinical instruments and equipment
• Monitor inventory and order clinical supplies as needed
• Triage phone calls related to clinical questions, results, and patient concerns when appropriate

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
• Phlebotomy training and hands-on experience required; preferred experience includes assisting with IUD placements, Pap smear collection, vaginal swabs, and hormone lab workflows.
• Prior experience in gynecology, urology, or women's health strongly preferred; minimum of 3+ years of experience in gynecology required.
• Familiarity with Athenahealth (Athena) is a plus
• Excellent bedside manner and strong patient service skills
• High level of attention to detail, organization, and professionalism
• Ability to thrive in a concierge-style, patient-focused environment
