Responsibilities

  • The PCC has clinical and leadership expertise. The principal responsibilities within the site(s) include:
  • Ensuring efficient day to day operations of clinical areas

  • At minimum, a completion of BScN Baccalaureate in Nursing or Baccalaureate level education with Diploma in Nursing required
  • Completion of a Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Cardiac life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
  • Three (3) years nursing experience, including experience as required by area of responsibility and experience working in a supervisory capacity
  • Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Demonstrates membership within a professional nursing association and/or nursing interest groups related to practice
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Experience with project management and/or Lean process improvement an asset
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and collaborates with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

The Palliative Care Program which spans both inpatient and outpatient services. Together, these programs provide specialized, interdisciplinary care for patients with complex non-malignant hematologic conditions, cancer-related pain needs, and end-of-life care needs across oncology diagnoses. The portfolio includes leadership responsibilities for administrative staff, registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and allied health professionals. These teams work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary model alongside nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, and clinical nurse specialists to support high-quality, coordinated care across inpatient, outpatient, and specialty clinic settings.
