As our first IT Operations Lead , you'll lead the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of the company's IT and information security environment from the ground up. This includes overseeing all end-user devices (desktops, laptops, peripherals), infrastructure, security, and the management of external IT service providers. The role also involves providing strategic and hands-on support to ongoing technology initiatives, including the implementation of a new ERP system. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and leadership to ensure that our technology backbone is secure, reliable, and scalable

Responsibilities

  • IT Operations & End-User Management
  • Manage and maintain all company desktops, laptops, and related hardware/software.
  • Oversee user accounts, device setup, and access control systems.
  • Ensure reliable and secure network connectivity across offices and remote access services.
  • Develop IT processes and documentation (onboarding, asset management, support workflows).
  • Deploy and manage information security tools on end-user devices.
  • Vendor & Outsourced Partner Management
  • Select, onboard, and manage the outsourced IT services provider.
  • Define service level agreements (SLAs), track performance, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage software licensing, hardware procurement, and vendor relationships.
  • Infrastructure & Systems
  • Oversee internal IT infrastructure (networking, servers, backup systems, VPN, etc.).
  • Support the integration of SaaS and cloud-based solutions across departments.
  • Partner with the ERP implementation team to align infrastructure and access requirements.
  • IT Security & Compliance
  • Enforce and contribute to IT security policies, access controls, and data protection measures.
  • Implement endpoint protection, monitoring, and incident response processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, best practices).
  • Strategic IT Development
  • Evaluate and recommend IT solutions that align with the company's growth and digital roadmap.
  • Plan and budget for IT resourcing, balancing immediate priorities with long-term scalability.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on all IT technology-related topics.
  • Your profile
  • 5+ years of experience in IT administration or infrastructure roles, in a scale-up company.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing desktops (Windows, macOS), SaaS tools, and cloud environments.
  • Proven experience managing IT vendors or outsourced service providers.
  • Good understanding of IT security best practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and strategically as the company's first IT professional.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting or integrating ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Previous experience with MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions such as Microsoft Intune, JAMF, Kandji, and Federation of IdP (identity management) such as Google Workspace, Okta, OneLogin, or other SSO solutions.
  • Familiarity with business supporting SaaS services such as GCP, AWS, GitHub, Hubspot, Slack, or Personio.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, technology, or hardware-focused environment.
  • IT Project management experience or certifications a plus(e.g., CITM, CMiT, ITIL).
