Responsibilities

  • Determine tariff classifications for imported and exported goods and periodically review to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with our vendors on Customs related matters to ensure proper compliance.
  • Remain informed and qualify all US Free Trade Agreements and advise the organization of changes.
  • Perform post entry audits of Customs entries including root cause and corrective actions.

  • Provide day-to-day import, export controls and supply chain security guidance to internal customers.
  • Perform ad hoc Restricted Party & Diversion Risk Screening and review exception reports.
  • Review product documentation and determine correct Country of Origin designations.
  • Assume responsibility for necessary recordkeeping to ensure compliance with Customs requirements.
  • Manage Customs Brokers globally, ensuring SOP's and KPI's are developed and followed, audit programs defined, QBRs are scheduled and maintained, periodic review of costs and relationship is monitored.

  • Ability to problem solve escalated issues and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP, GTS, TMS, MRP software.
  • Education and Experience
  • Customs Broker License, if applicable
  • A minimum of 3-years customs experience in a large customs department or a customs brokerage house
  • Experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics.
