JOB PURPOSE PHINIA is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Technical Project Engineer at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy, MI. This person is responsible for implementation, coordination, maintenance and training of Program Management Process, Systems and Tools. The objective is to establish a best-in class program management process that can help the organization's ability to manage projects successfully and to exceed customer expectations. PAY RANGE 77,625.00 - 103,500.00 - 129,375.00 USD Annual

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver advanced manufacturing and test systems using digital tools and automation.
  • Own end-to-end project execution, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and cost with data-driven rigor.
  • Convert complex requirements into executable plans, driving alignment, and rapid decision-making.
  • Manage budgets and capital investments with a focus on ROI and predictive financial performance.
  • Interface with suppliers and integrators, driving technical alignment through structured digital collaboration.
  • Oversee equipment build, installation, and production readiness using streamlined and automated workflows.
  • Deliver executive updates and business cases using data-backed insights and real-time reporting.
  • Define and manage SOWs with clear scope, deliverables, and system-driven progress tracking.
  • Oversee system development/management and process execution to ensure efficient project delivery and operational consistency.
  • Drive schedule adherence and risk mitigation through proactive planning and issue resolution
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Mechanical or Electromechanical)
  • 3+ years' program management experience required in the automotive industry.
  • Strong technical background in Complex manufacturing systems, automotive manufacturing, or precision engineering
  • Proven experience leading complex engineering projects from concept to launch
  • Demonstrated financial acumen (cost control, budgeting, capital planning, ROI)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and influence decisions
  • Experience working with suppliers, system integrators, and external partners
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
  • CAPM /PMP certification (Preferred)
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems (Preferred)
