About the role

We're growing fast - and we need someone who can keep our people operations running just as smoothly. As our People Operations Partner in Spain, you'll own the full employee lifecycle, keep us compliant, and make sure every person at Fourthline feels supported from day one. This isn't a box-ticking role. You'll work autonomously, solve problems before they become issues, and help shape the people experience in a company that's building something meaningful.

Responsibilities

  • Employee lifecycle - Manage everything from onboarding to offboarding contracts, amendments, probation periods, and all employment documentation. You keep our records accurate and our processes airtight.
  • Payroll & admin - Own monthly payroll in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external providers. Accurate, compliant, on time - every time. You'll also manage benefits, leave, and people-related reporting.
  • Employee support - Be the go-to person for day-to-day questions on policies, benefits, and employment matters. You bring clarity, not complexity.
  • Compliance & labour relations - Stay ahead of Spanish labour law and employment regulations. Monitor legislative changes, advise managers, and keep our policies sharp and up to date.
  • Continuous improvement - Spot what can be done better and do something about it. You'll drive process optimization and bring scalable, efficient solutions to our people's operations.
  • What you bring
  • 3+ years in People Operations, with solid hands-on experience
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish labour law, employment regulations, and HR compliance
  • Proven experience managing payroll processes in Spain
  • The ability to work autonomously and juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • A proactive, solutions-first mindset
  • Clear, confident communication - with both employees and manager
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Proficiency in HR systems
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to work 3 days from our Barcelona office.
  • Bonus points for: experience in a scale-up or high-growth startup, supporting distributed or international teams, or familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms.

Requirements

  • You don't wait to be told what needs fixing - you've already spotted it and started solving it. You care about people, take pride in getting the details right, and understand that great people operations is what lets everyone else do their best work.
