Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Mobile

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production mobile apps for iOS and/or Android
• Proficiency in at least one mobile development stack: Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, or React Native
• Experience building backend services and APIs, and integrating mobile apps
• Strong understanding of mobile security, including secure storage, authentication, and encryption practices
• Experience with low-level protocols such as Bluetooth or NFC
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices for mobile apps
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with customers, ideally in consulting or delivery contexts
• Based in the US and willing to engage directly with state government partners

As a Forward Deployed Mobile Engineer, you will focus on building and deploying mobile applications that put SpruceID's technology directly into the hands of people engaging with their governments. You will work closely with state governments, public sector partners, and SpruceID teams to design and deliver secure, private, and accessible mobile experiences. This role combines hands-on development with customer-facing delivery, ensuring mobile applications meet high technical standards and real-world public sector needs.
