About the role

At General Motors, we empower Product Managers to solve challenging customer and business problems. We seek passionate and innovative team members who can collaborate effectively within product management, program management, design, and engineering teams to discover and deliver impactful solutions. We hold our teams accountable for results and seek leaders who can influence teammates, stakeholders, and executives using data and logic. As a Senior Product Manager, you will help define and deliver the developer platforms and workflows that support complex data review and event auditing from autonomous vehicle logs. Incorporating AI-driven diagnostics and triage capabilities, these web-based applications display multi-modal sensor data, empowering engineering, safety, performance, and operations teams to analyze system behavior, investigate issues, and help optimize AV performance at scale. This role will focus on turning user needs into clear product requirements, prioritizing roadmap work, and partnering closely with engineering, design, data science, and program teams to build fast, powerful, and reliable tools for the GM AV program. Success requires curiosity about AV systems, empathy for internal users, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to work through ambiguous technical problems with cross-functional partners. You should be comfortable learning complex workflows, using data to make prioritization decisions, and translating developer and reviewer pain points into practical product improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Own product requirements and roadmap priorities for internal web-based tools used to review, triage, investigate, and audit events from AV logs.
  • Partner with autonomy engineers, data scientists, safety teams, operations teams, and developers to understand workflows involving multi-modal sensor data, including camera, radar, lidar, map, vehicle state, planning, prediction, and system event data.
  • Translate complex user needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization recommendations.
  • Improve reviewer and developer productivity by identifying workflow bottlenecks, usability gaps, performance issues, and opportunities for automation.
  • Help evolve tools that are fast, intuitive, reliable, and scalable enough to support current and future GM AV program needs.
  • Define and track product metrics such as review throughput, time to triage, investigation cycle time, tool reliability, user adoption, and workflow completion quality.
  • Work closely with engineering and design partners to deliver high-quality experiences for visualizing, navigating, labeling, filtering, and analyzing complex AV data.
  • Support roadmap planning by synthesizing user feedback, operational data, technical constraints, and program priorities.
  • Communicate product decisions, tradeoffs, launch plans, and progress updates to stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Stay close to evolving AV development needs and help ensure internal tools can support future investigation, evaluation, and performance understanding workflows.
  • Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • 3+ years of product management, technical program management, software product development, data tooling, developer tooling, or related industry experience.
  • Experience working with engineering teams to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver software products or internal tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex data, identify patterns, and make practical product recommendations.
  • Ability to learn technical domains quickly and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Experience gathering user feedback, documenting workflows, writing product requirements, and defining success metrics.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve as teams learn more from users, data, and system performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain tradeoffs, risks, and priorities.
  • Collaborative working style with curiosity, attention to detail, and a bias toward measurable product impact.
  • What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with autonomous vehicle, ADAS, robotics, simulation, mapping, perception , planning, or safety analysis workflows.
  • Experience building or supporting internal web applications, data review tools, labeling tools, observability tools, or developer productivity platforms.
  • Familiarity with multi-modal sensor data, event review, log analysis, or large-scale data pipelines.
  • Experience working with UX design and front-end engineering teams to simplify complex technical workflows.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
  • Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid . This means the successful candidate is expected to report
