Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Nurse in good standing
  • Minimum of (2) year's recent medical/surgical/emergency clinical work experience
  • Must have or be willing to complete the following required certifications and education: BCLS, ACLS, PALS modules within the first 6 months of hire

  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in these areas
  • Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
  • Exposure to Lean principles, with an understanding of related methodologies and tools and a commitment to the use of these in support of providing the best healthcare experience possible to our patients
  • Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record
  • Asset:
  • Computer literacy and or familiarity with e-documentation
  • BScN
  • 1 year in critical care setting an asset
  • Ability to speak another language an asset

Our Critical Care Program is a patient focused total care model. You will provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, based on the philosophy and conceptual framework of Nursing Practice at Scarborough Health Network. You will provide exceptional "customer service" to patients and families within an inter-professional, team environment. You demonstrate professional accountability for your practice and are able to identify and pursue opportunities to meet your learning needs. You may be scheduled at any SHN hospital based on departmental needs.
