About the role
The Renewal Portfolio Manager (RPM) is a revenue generating role that is responsible for managing the end-to-end renewal process and owning renewal outcomes for Sun Life's Small Business segment 2-49 enrolled lives. Focuses on identifying cross-selling opportunities, supporting client retention strategies, and building strong broker and partner relationships Owns renewal results for block of business; responsible for achieving persistency and growth targets through effective retention efforts and cross selling additional lines of coverage Builds and maintains external relationships with key personnel at the agencies in assigned territory Builds and maintains relationships with internal teams to facilitate customer inquiries/issue resolution in conjunction with the renewal process Builds and maintains relationships with sales reps, Account Executives and internal service teams. Collaborates regularly on opportunities, threats, and necessary action plans to meet customer and broker needs throughout the renewal process Tracks and maintains all current renewal status and data. Organize information to be relevant and timely to follow Sun Life internal process, deliver timely renewals to the market Set appropriate and reasonable expectations with internal and external partners Maintains proper documentation of all renewal activities in all systems including, but not limited to, Salesforce Manages Lead Generation Integrations, including reviewing inbound leads, validating accuracy and eligibility, and routing opportunities to the appropriate sales or internal partners for follow-up Performs other duties as needed What you will bring with you: Ability to multi-task and work accurately and effectively in a fast paced environment Ability to set priorities in a high volume, fast-paced environment Ability to collaborate and negotiate with remote internal partners Ability to actively listen to clients, paying attention to their needs, wants, likes, dislikes, trends, ideas and suggestions Knowledgeable, service-oriented professional approach Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to pitch in and support the team at all times Ability to influence the horizontal process and influence the owners of each part of the process Excellent problem solving skills with high energy and enthusiasm Strong verbal and written communication skills Thorough understanding of contract provisions and administrative policies and procedures In-depth knowledge of group insurance products and processes Ability to understand, interpret and explain contracts, plan design option, and rating factors Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting principles and rating philosophies College degree preferred One to Two years of account management experience or equivalent industry experience in Insurance or Employee Benefits is preferred Salary Range: $58,800 - $88,200 At our company, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location.
