How You Will Make an Impact: The District Manager is responsible for supervising and training field personnel while ensuring maintenance of field shops, inventory, production, and fabrication in their designated region. The Operations Chief provides professional service and support for customers by ensuring field service installation, startup, repairs, and maintenance for Atlas generators. Must be willing to work in all outdoor climates, be on call, and travel to various Atlas customers within their designated region.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all field facility activities including but not limited to procurement, maintenance, and quality control to ensure optimum production.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of field activities, including but not limited to, employee compliance, training, vacations, shift scheduling, and other items as needed.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports for production, fabrication, quality control, maintenance, and operations to troubleshoot any necessary product issues.
  • Helps to develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards.
  • Responsible for processing payroll, overtime, and tracking employee productive/unproductive work time.
  • Ensure all employees fully understand their personal responsibility and accountability to adhere to standards of performance and departmental objectives regarding safety and all other work-related activities.
  • Align departments to ensure maximum consistency and flexibility amongst work groups.
  • Provides input to and oversees the budget for the assigned area.
  • Establishes production/fabrication priorities for products with effective operations and budgetary/ cost controls.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as results of equipment failure to operating problems.
  • Consults with engineering personnel to improve production and quality of products.
  • Required to be on call and available 24/7 while on shift.
  • Know and comply with all safety policies, standards, and procedures that apply to your job.
  • Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings.
  • Use the correct tools and use them safely.
  • Immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
  • Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • 5 to 7 years of mechanical experience or the equivalent in professional training is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory or lead technician experience is preferred.
  • Ability to supervise, lead, delegate, and communicate efficiently with team.
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to work alone.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in the elements.
  • An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.
  • Demonstrated experience with repairing equipment.
  • Read and follow complex directions in manuals and relay information in reports.
  • Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to work legally in the US.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Clean motor vehicle record.
  • Reporting Relationship:
  • Reports To: Senior Field Operations Manager
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct supervision to assigned employees, including responsibility for work assignments, performance management, coaching and development, and input into hiring, disciplinary, and compensation decisions
  • Work Location & Travel Requirements
  • Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
  • Work Environment: (Office, Field, Shop, Outdoors, etc.)
  • Travel %: Travel for training as needed, overnight stays if travelling across field from time to time.
  • Schedule/Work Arrangement:
  • Monday - Friday 7am-5pm
