About the role
Anduril's Manufacturing Automation team is seeking a Senior Machine Vision Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to help define what production automation looks like for Anduril at a national scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine vision for automation systems, quality inspection, defect detection, and process monitoring
- Specify, procure, validate, and sustain vision system components including cameras, lenses, lighting, controllers, and software
- Oversee the installation, validation, and commissioning of vision systems in production environments across multiple product lines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate high-precision inspection systems into production lines and automation systems
- Lead efforts into RCCA on vision systems and process failures
- Train production staff on the operation and maintenance of vision systems
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- 4+ years of experience in developing and maintaining vision systems in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience developing vision system platforms (Cognex, Keyence, iRVision, Halcon) and programming languages (Python, C++, OpenCV)
- Strong understanding of image processing algorithms, optics, and lighting principles
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems including PLC / robot integration
- Familiarity with advanced defect detection techniques, AI-based vision systems, and SPC methodologies
