About the role
In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Location: King of Prussia, PA Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Hourly pay range : $29 - $31
Requirements
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in inventory management, material handling, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
- 2+ years in a lead, coordination, or supervisory role within a regulated environment.
- Certification or training in Dangerous Goods regulations (IATA, ADR, IMDG) preferred
- Proven experience with international shipping, customs, documentation, and temperature-controlled logistics
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle, or equivalent), including reporting, item master management, and purchasing processes.
- Experience with barcode scanning systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and handheld devices.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, charts, and conditional formatting) and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of chemical storage, segregation, compatibility, labeling, and SDS management.
- Expertise in inventory control practices, including FIFO, FEFO, lot tracking, expiration management, cycle counting, and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for operational and customer-facing audiences.
- Experience coordinating or supervising team activities, including scheduling, task prioritization, and performance guidance.

- Coordinates end-to-end shipment activities, including planning, regulatory classification, packaging selection, documentation preparation, and collaboration with external logistics providers. All shipments must meet applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards before dispatch.
- Apply experience and independent judgment to navigate complex shipping requirements, including international regulations, customs clearance, hazardous material classifications, and temperature-controlled logistics.
- Troubleshoot shipment issues, resolve documentation discrepancies, and drive corrective actions to ensure successful delivery.
- Prepare and review critical shipment documentation such as dangerous goods declarations, export/import paperwork, and courier-specific requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with internal teams, vendors, and courier services to coordinate specialized shipments, resolve transit issues, and serve as an escalation point for complex shipment challenges while providing technical guidance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing shipment processes and data, identifying trends, and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate service quality.
