Line Boring Technician

Requirements

• Journeyperson Welder or Machinist Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
• Valid driver's license (drivers abstract as a condition of offer)
• Proven line boring experience
• Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial
• Important Details
• This position is based out of Cranbrook, BC on a 4x3 compressed shift
• Both Shop and Field work will be required
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site Access which includes Drug and Alcohol Screening, be fit tested and have the ability to wear a respirator
• Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.

Maintain Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment in a field environment Set up, operate line boring equipment and measuring tools to complete the weld build up, fitting and related tasks Component rebuild and repair, weld, grind, re-machine bores, some Manufacturing Perform routine maintenance work Occasional work at heights and confined spaces Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
