About the role
37 hours per week We are looking for an experienced chartered surveyor to provide strategic leadership and management of the Council's internal Asset Management Team and external multi-disciplinary consultants in the delivery of the Council's property related programmes. As the lead for the Council's property assets you will help us maximise the benefits we drive from our estate, where you will oversee a diverse range of assets, ensuring service occupiers thrive and our commercial assets deliver forecasted returns. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Asset Management Team driving innovation and creativity in the team. We are currently working on an extensive range of exciting project across all property sectors and manage a portfolio of over 900 assets with a combined value of over £700M. In this role you will have the ability to shape our estate and the strategy that underpins our strategic asset management plan. You will report directly to the Group Manager and provide strategic advice to services all across the Council helping to identify the best property solutions and continuously challenge the status quo of the operational estate to maximise our use. For this post you are required to exercise professional commercial judgement and financial acumen and have a passion for property. You will have a strong track record of working in multi-disciplinary consultant team environments delivering asset focused outcomes in innovative and creative ways. Client and stakeholder engagement is crucial so excellent communication and presentation skills will be vital. You will be a chartered member of the RICS and experience of working in a public sector environment is desirable but not essential.
