Assistant Trust Accountant - Perpetual Corporate Trust

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of periodic management accounts and annual financial statements
• Perform account reconciliations and posting of journals
• Assist with calculati on of T rust distributions
• Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) returns
• C oordinating audit of the financial statements and ensure timely completion of audit.
• Coordinating preparation and lodgement of income tax return and annual tax reports including AIIR and PAYGW with tax agent.
• Preparing payment directions
• Respond to accounting enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
• Support the Trust Accountants on the delivery of Trust accounting services
• Maintain ing relationships with clients
• L iaising with key internal stakeholders including Trustee, Trust Manager and Investment Manager for the delivery of services under the relevant accounting engagements
• About you
• We're interested in hearing from people who have:
• A degree in accounting, economics, or finance, with a major in accounting
• Currently undertaking CA or CPA accreditation
• At least 18 months experience working in a chartered accounting firm or Big4 environment
• Preferred skills and knowledge:
• Familiarity with Australian trust tax legislation
• Working knowledge of managed funds and securitisation processes
• Previous auditing experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including advanced spreadsheet functions and data analysis, as well as hands-on experience using accounting systems such as XERO for day-to-day transactions and financial reporting
