JOB SUMMARY: The Project Engineer (NGMD) will support the program's Regional Systems Engineering team by leading early-phase systems engineering activities across concept development, requirements analysis, interface definition, and system modeling efforts within a complex command and control environment. This role supports the transformation of stakeholder needs into technical solutions through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, interface development, Agile execution, and systems engineering lifecycle activities supporting mission-critical defense capabilities. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead early-phase systems engineering activities across concept development, requirements analysis, and system design Spearhead scheduling activities and track project deadlines Transform stakeholder needs and solicited requirements into technical approaches and engineering solutions Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts including use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams Develop physical and logical system models utilizing MBSE methodologies and tools Lead system interface development activities documented through Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs) Translate system and interface requirements into message-level technical details to support interface development efforts Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews Create, review, and critique interface documents, system requirements documentation, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates Interface with key stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional engineering counterparts as required Participate in Agile development planning and execution activities, including iteration planning and status reporting Support integrated systems engineering activities throughout the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Wide application of systems engineering principles, theories, and concepts with the ability to solve difficult technical problems Experience working in integrated team environments supporting systems engineering lifecycle activities Experience with requirements elicitation, decomposition, and concept development activities Experience developing or supporting system and interface documentation Experience utilizing MBSE approaches and tools such as Cameo Experience supporting complex command and control systems environments Experience participating in Agile development environments and Scrum teams Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats Ability to present technical content and receive critical feedback effectively Ability to support urgent or short-notice tasking while maintaining efficiency Experience interfacing directly with customers and stakeholders Experience supporting engineering reviews and technical documentation efforts PR
