Pay Range: $28.70 - $37.32 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB) Conducts electroneurodiagnostic procedures including patient assessment, testing, collection and technical interpretation of data,completion of preliminary reports and billing. Performs routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities of Neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalography(EEG), Ambulatory EEG, Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) and ICU patient monitoring. Provides training and education support to other technologists and/or neurophysiologists as needed. Gathers and documents accurate medical information. Reviews patient data and communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assure high quality patient care. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Dual credential (REEGT, REDT, REPT, RNCST, CNIM, RVT or other appropriate credentials)or neurodiagnostic credential and Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree. REEGT with associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Three years previous electroneurodiagnostics experience preferred. Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider Knowledge and Skills: Intermediate computer skills. Special Training: Previous electroneurodiagnostics experience preferred. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Possesses a friendly and customer-focused demeanor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Verifies identity of the patient using appropriate identifiers and verifies physician order for procedure. Measures the patient's head and attaches electrodes in accordance with the 10/20 international electrode placement system as evidenced by manager observations. Tests functional integrity of electrodes and assures acceptable electrode impedances. Obtains a complete and relevant patient history to include medications as evidenced by departmental documentation tools. Observes all patient safety measures, assuring side-rails on stretchers are upright and locked, except when transferring the patient, all wheelchair and stretcher wheels are locked and patients are under direct supervision by staff at all times as evidenced by manager observation and safety protocols. Removes all electrolyte/gel/collodian and cleans patient's scalp safely and thoroughly at the end of the testing. Logs and submits charges for all studies immediately upon completion in accordance with department policy and procedure. Utilizes appropriate infection control measures to ensure thorough cleansing of electrodes and other recording accessories as evidenced by equipment inspection. Prepares and provides an accurate technical report for the interpreting physician on all studies completed. Performs bio-calibration before and after each EEG study and records all montages in accordance with department policy and procedure as evidenced by the recordings. Performs applicable activation procedures and additional or special investigative montages as directed and/or in accordance with department policy and procedure. Transfers all studies upon completion via the network connection from the collection units (EEG, Ambulatory Reader) to the reader station and verifies transfer in accordance with department policy and procedure. Logs and submits charges on all completed studies immediately upon completion in accordance with department policy and procedure as evidenced by reporting systems. Measures accurately scalp and applicable electrode sites and applies all necessary recording electrodes to obtain a VEP, BAER, SSEP and ATC and ensures acceptable impedance under 3 K-Ohms. Obtains interpretable, replicable waveforms for a VEP, BAER, SSEP and ATC. Obtains additional or prolonged sampling in order to obtain desired outcome. Superimposes accurately all applicable recorded waveforms and measures/tags all replicable peaks in order to obtain absolute and interpeak latencies. Completes accurately and co
