About the role

As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will serve as a project lead for comprehensive and/or complex financial management analysis. Location of position: Office of Chief Financial Office/Financial Reporting Office of Chief Financial Office provides the full suite of financial services to GSA to ensure proper management of the agency's financial resources. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Accountant Qualifications: Basic Requirements: You must have either A or B, or C: A. Degree in accounting B. Degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law C. A combination of college level education and experience. Refer to OPM's Accounting Qualification Standard for more information. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in performing accounting functions and interpreting or implementing new or revised accounting policies and processes. This experience must demonstrate the following: ● Applying federal, or similar, accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars, Government Accountability Office (GAO) guidance) to improve program and/or system effectiveness. ● Managing and overseeing the financial reporting process for a federal agency or program, including preparing or reviewing agency financial statements and supporting schedules, and ● Experience with federal, or similar, financial systems (e.g., preparing data for or using a system compliant with the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA). This position has a positive education requirement: Applicants must submit a copy of their college or university transcript(s) and certificates by the closing date of announcements to verify qualifications.
