About the role

You will serve as a TRANING INSTRUCTOR (FIREARMS) in the TRAINING DEPARTMENT (10B) of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing firearms duties such as qualifying other officer/agents as a primary or collateral duty; Instructing basic and advanced law enforcement training curriculum in the firearms topical areas to include Basic Marksmanship Instruction (BMI) and Firearms Safety Rules and Regulations; and Developing new methods and approaches to meet overall basic and training objectives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
