About The Role Hospital Placement Lead RDUH Northern and Honorary Senior Lecturer BMBS (Education and Scholarship) This part-time UCEA Clinical Honorary post is available from 01/10/2026 on a permanent basis. Salary will be at appropriate Consultant/Associate Specialist rate depending on qualifications and experience and will be remunerated through NHS payroll at equivalent of 3 PAs (0.3 FTE). The Role We are seeking to appoint a new Honorary Senior Lecturer as the BMBS Placement Lead for Royal Devon University Healthcare (RDUH) Trust North Devon. This post is for 0.3 FTE/3 PA's per week. As the Hospital Placement Lead, the role holder will be a leader in supporting and developing our culture as an intrinsic part of the clinical development of our students as future doctors. The primary responsibility of the role is to lead on the organisation and quality control of clinical placements and associated teaching and assessment for students placed in RDUH North. The role holder will be appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer. Please note, once the appointment has been confirmed, arrangements will be made to discuss joint job planning and appraisals between the University and the Trust. About you For an Honorary Senior Lecturer post you will: Be an active clinician at consultant or specialist level. Have recent or ongoing experience as a senior clinician in secondary care. Be registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice. Have a track record of working within medical education at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Have excellent organisational and leadership skills.
