About the role

Are you ready to optimize the supply networks that make life-saving diagnostics possible? As our Sourcing Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, you will be a vital part of our APAC sourcing operations. In this high-impact role, you will execute end-to-end, medium- to high-complexity sourcing projects while acting as a key mechanism for the Asia Sourcing Office - identifying regional suppliers, performing initial due diligence, and translating transactional requests into strategic, value-add solutions. Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Asia Sourcing Office Lead, and is part of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE). Wider team and stakeholders: Partners with DOP Category, DOP Delivery, RSS Demand to Pay, regional operations stakeholders, and external suppliers to resolve administrative bottlenecks and inform future strategies. Role Type: An Individual Contributor role focused on end-to-end sourcing execution, master data management, and value creation. Impact: You drive global sourcing excellence, financial value, and compliance across the APAC footprint. Specifically, you are accountable for: Asia Supplier Discovery: Identifying potential suppliers across Asia, executing initial due diligence, and conducting targeted regional benchmarking. Sourcing Execution: Compliantly executing regional sourcing projects, standard processes (RfIs, RfQs, RfPs), and eSourcing tools for on-market products and New Product Introductions (NPI). Demand Aggregation: Analyzing site user requirements, aggregating regional demand to maximize leverage, and escalating non-standard requests to Category Management. Project & Risk Management: Developing comprehensive project plans (timelines, milestones, resources) and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to objectives. Contract Lifecycle: Setting up template-based contracts (such as CDAs and SOWs) and accurately managing their lifecycle repository, renewals, and potential contractual improvements. Operational Excellence: Utilizing enterprise tools (SAP, myBuy) and master data management to simplify workflows and ensure strict compliance with global procurement policies. Metrics & CSR: Tracking operational targets and customer service metrics (such as cycle times and compliance) while championing supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical practices. Collaboration & Exposure: Partnering with support functions (like Accounts Payable) to clear administrative bottlenecks and presenting regular KPI and project updates to the Sourcing Lead and regional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education: University degree (Business/Life Sciences preferred) is required; an MBA or CIPS certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in procurement or sourcing, specializing in tactical sourcing (spot buying), contract management, and contributing to cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Market Expertise: Strong regional sourcing and NPI experience across complex direct categories (such as Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) & e-components, Plastics & Packaging, or Biologicals & Chemicals).
  • AI & Digitalization: Advanced knowledge in AI application and a strong affinity to explore AI-driven solutions broadly, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
  • Systems & Analytics: Strong experience with Business Enterprise Systems (specifically SAP), myBuy, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows, eSourcing/eAuction platforms, master data management, and BI tools like Tableau and ThoughtSpot.
  • Mindset & Soft Skills: A highly analytical thinker with a "process-first" mindset focused on removing friction from the sourcing cycle, managing project timelines, and navigating conflicting priorities.
