About the role

As part of the Elders livestock team, no two days are the same. You might start the morning in the yards, spend the afternoon on-farm with clients discussing marketing options, and finish the day building relationships with buyers, processors or new clients across the district. Responsibilities

  • Building strong relationships with existing and new livestock clients
  • Identifying livestock marketing opportunities across the region
  • Providing practical, trusted advice to producers
  • Working closely with buyers, processors and industry stakeholders
  • Supporting livestock sales, auctions and on-property transactions
  • Contributing to local industry and community events
  • Growing your own profile, network and reputation within the region

Requirements

  • You are an experienced livestock agent who enjoys working with a diverse team of passionate livestock colleagues.
  • Most importantly, you'll :

  • Enjoy working with producers and rural communities
  • Have a strong work ethic and commercial mindset
  • Be motivated to grow personally and professionally
  • Be willing to get involved and contribute to the broader branch team across Elders' portfolio of services
  • Employ or develop strong negotiating skills to bring buyers and sellers together
  • Hold a Livestock Auctioneer Licence and Assessor Accreditation, or be willing to complete free training through Elders
