About the role

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Diversion Control Division, Regulatory Drafting & Policy Support Section (DPW), Arlington, VA. Applicants applying for the GS-15 must meet one of the following requirements: Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: One full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: (1)Providing oversight, advice, and guidance related to regulatory drafting and policy support section; evaluating legislation and existing regulations and policies; (2)composing notices of proposed rulemaking, final rules, publications of quotas, and other regulatory actions including cost benefit and cost impact analysis;(3)recommending policy resolutions that are consistent with statutory mandates;(4) overseeing complex analytical assignments to develop strategies to improve the monitoring of controlled substances and listed chemicals; and supervisory duties in all aspects of personnel management. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
