1st Shift Temper Operator - $22.09/hour

Responsibilities

• As a Temper Operator , you'll be part of our Stanley Black & Decker team located in East Longmeadow, MA. You'll get to:
• Set up, load, and unload a number of nitrogen, steam, and air tempering furnaces to prescribed specifications from various heat treating areas. Pickup and deliver in-process and finished goods to the appropriate areas throughout the plant.
• Obtain in-process materials from various heat treating areas. Check ticketed materials and travelers for correct specifications. Load material into proper tempering fixtures. Place into appropriate tempering furnace using overhead hoist.
• Set-ups, load appropriate program for prescribed material to be tempered per ISO, fill out and attach temper ticket to temper tank, verify and sign off on run charts.
• Complete SAP transactions.
• Diagnose operating problems and take corrective action. Perform similar duties to maintain operation of tempering related equipment.
• Pickup and move in process and finished goods to the appropriate area. Inspect product visually to ensure that material and quantity are signed off and match travelers. Report problem situations to Supervisor as necessary.
• Maintain routine production and/or TPM records as instructed.
• Detect and report unusual operating conditions, defective materials to proper Supervisor. Maintain work areas, equipment, and machinery in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow all safety rules and practices. Perform other similar duties as instructed or assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers
• Ability to process SAP transactions
• Certified forklift and power truck operator
• Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds

• The Salary range for this position is $22.09 - $22.65
• The hourly rate range listed in this job posting reflects the range for the primary location specified. The hourly rate range may vary for other locations.
