Description of Work Who are we? - The North Carolina Early Intervention Section is a part of the Division of Child and Family Well-Being. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program which provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three, who have developmental delays and/or disabilities. - Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) are the local agencies that implement the NC ITP across North Carolina, working with local service providers to help families help their children succeed. The primary purpose of the Nutritionist position is to provide comprehensive, complex nutrition evaluation and treatment services to children ages birth to three with a variety of medical/nutritional problems and developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, or those characterized as medically high risk who are referred to or enrolled in the Infant Toddler Program. Services must be provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant/Toddler Program, including providing services to the family in the child's natural learning environment such as the home. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Grade Range $52,848 - $79,272 Recruitment Range $52,848 - $ 59,317 **Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours** Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Experience interviewing, assessing, and counseling parents/caregivers regarding nutrition. Proven experience with monitoring and maintaining quality standards of nutrition care for children 0-3 and their families, using current standards and practice Experience in utilizing a range of pediatric nutrition intervention techniques to reach nutritional and developmental outcomes. Experience in a multi-disciplinary pediatric setting. Experience providing nutritional services in the family's home as well as via a virtual platform. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Workstation will be located in the Waynesville CDSA office.
