Job Description Dual reporting to the Corporate Accounting Supervisor, and the GMNA Controller of Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA), the successful candidate will be an active team member involved in monthly, quarterly, and year end activities. This position offers a great opportunity to further enhance technical accounting, teamwork, cross functional work, and communication skills. Deliverables Financial Close & Reconciliations Complete monthly/quarterly close process for CCA Canada, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Establish and maintain high standards of documentation and support for journal entries and account reconciliations. Variance Analysis & Reporting Monthly and quarterly financial statement variance analysis, quarterly SEC disclosure preparation, as well as reporting packages for senior leadership, to understand critical movement(s) in account balances and activity. Operational Support & Process Improvement Support recurring cash receipt, banking, and transaction administration processes, including accurate system maintenance, monitoring, and follow-up to ensure transactions are recorded completely and on time. Apply available AI and digital tools to simplify recurring work, strengthen data accuracy, and support more efficient execution of monthly and quarterly activities. Process, Controls & Risk Support the continuous improvement of the design, implementation and execution of processes and controls to ensure the overall accuracy of GM Canada's financial accounting and financial statement disclosures. Identification, interpretation and analysis of accounting risks and issues. Understand GM SOX frameworks and facilitate the testing, reporting and remediation of GM SOX team. Coordinate timely remediation efforts with GM SOX as needed. Collaboration & Audit Support Develop and enhance a positive working relationship with financial statement and SOX auditors. Critical team member of the CCA Controllership group, ensuring consistent treatment of similar items/issues, actively pursuing functional efficiencies. Required Skills Successsfully obtained a Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma or equivalent in a related field, preferably with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with and influence a variety of different groups, including peers, outside consultants, and audit teams. Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision, with a drive for results. Advanced Excel and SAP knowledge are strongly preferred. Chartered Professional Accountant, or comparable designation is strongly preferred.
