The Director of Community Building, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), in close collaboration with Audubon's Community Building leadership and country teams, will be responsible for building initiatives to develop partnerships and provide capacity-building opportunities, tools, and mechanisms to support conservation partners across the region and connect these opportunities with Audubon teams and collaborators in the United States and Canada. Among other responsibilities, the position will be responsible for: collaborating with partners who manage public venues (nature reserves, museums, etc.) to position birds as powerful levers to change individual behaviors towards conservation and establish programmatic exchanges with "sister centers" along hemispheric bird migration flyways; promoting efforts to enhance Audubon's bird-based tourism programming in LAC; connecting Audubon conservation projects in LAC with Audubon's U.S.-based Chapters for programmatic support; building a program to advance next-generation leaders in bird conservation, including university chapters; and working closely with Audubon's Communications team colleagues to raise visibility for bird habitat conservation in LAC. The ideal candidate will be a skilled, experienced manager and a strategic thinker and have a background in working with communities, campaigns, and collaborative, multi-national partnerships.
