About the role
This position is part of the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will be responsible for the oversight and operational direction of the Counterintelligence (CI) Directorate's analytical processes and products and for providing advanced knowledge and insight to DOE decision makers. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of the following 3: Analyzing adversary tactics for targeting an organization's personnel, technology, or sensitive information and presenting these findings and recommendations to senior leadership (e.g., executives, senior government officials, or corporate leadership) to inform their decisions. Setting priorities for an analytics team, assigning tasks based on individual capabilities, and ensuring final products (such as reports, briefings, and assessments) meet organizational standards and deadlines. Coordinating joint analytic projects, resolving differences, and ensuring a unified effort to address complex security threats. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
