More about the role: We are looking for an experienced consultant at Director level to join our Energy & Industrials team in Brussels, covering Climate and Energy policies. This role reports to the Energy & Industrials, Head of Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement impactful and multi-market campaigns on key climate and energy issues, including but not limited to CBAM(Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and ETS (Emission Trading System), industrial emissions, gas, grid and electricity markets. In this role, you will be able to work with a wide range of stakeholders including EU and national policymakers, industry associations, downstream users and media and influencers with a view to drive tangible and meaningful impact for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a portfolio of climate & energy clients and projects, while nurturing client relationships and delivering strategic and well-thought-out integrated public affairs and communications programs.
• Provide strategic advice on the climate and energy files to a wide range of clients including multinational companies and international organizations.
• Act as a day-to-day point of contact for clients.
• Manage overall quality and delivery of work on multiple accounts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Work with account teams and clients to identify opportunities to deliver greater impact and results.
• Take a proactive role in new business development, and in agency operations and forums, contributing to the strength of our broader team both internally and externally.
• Mentor, inspire and train colleagues and support them to deliver best-in-class consulting services.
• Share knowledge and best practice and position Burson externally in the climate & energy sector and policy developments.
• Experience that contributes to success:
• Deep expertise in EU climate and energy policy, gained through work in an agency, industry body, or trade association.
• Proven track record of leading projects and developing strong, trusted client relationships.
• Skilled in designing and delivering public affairs programmes, advocacy campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting.
• Well-connected within EU policymaking, media, and business communities on climate and energy issues.
• A natural leader with experience managing and mentoring teams in fast-paced, complex environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a solutions-oriented, hands-on approach to growth and delivery.
