DevOps Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation, and automation of large-scale distributed systems
• Build tools and automation that help Five9 achieve higher availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency
• Work with Engineering teams to deliver high quality software in a fast-paced environment
• Monitor production and development environments to build preventive measures and provide a seamless customer experience
• Work with delivery teams on software improvements to achieve higher availability and lower MTTD
• Participate in on-call rotation (IST shift with every 2 weeks weekend included on call rotation)
• Key Requirements
• 1-3 years of public cloud experience (GCP or AWS)
• 1-3 years of private cloud experience (Openstack, VMware ESXi)
• 1-3 years of Linux experience (Centos/Ubuntu)
• 1-3 years of networking experience
• Orchestration and management of containers using Kubernetes, Helm, GKE and Docker
• Experience with Gitlab, ArgoCD, CI/CD methodologies & tools
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Python or other scripting languages
• Experience with config management tools such as Ansible and Puppet
• Experience in monitoring systems: Prometheus or LogicMonitor
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with Incident Management Process, SRE best practices and continuous improvements
• Experience designing large scale distributed systems
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
