Driver CDL-A

Responsibilities

• This position requires driving Local routes weekly (San Diego/Los Angeles).
• Safely operate Class C- A vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
• Pick up, verify, and deliver loads accurately and on time
• Load and unload a variety of cargo safely and efficiently
• Accurately complete required logs and transportation paperwork
• Inspect vehicle pre-trip and perform basic maintenance as needed
• Drive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather
• Follow DOT regulations, schedules, and required rest periods
• Navigate routes using maps, GPS, and directions
• Provide courteous, professional service at all customer locations
• Work collaboratively in team driving assignments
• Handle and transport animals safely and humanely, including non-human primates
• Adhere to strict animal welfare standards and safe handling practices
• Work in warehouse fulfilling orders when not driving
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Qualifications & Skills
• Valid CDL Class A License with a clean driving record
• Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience (5 years Preferred) (Live animal transport experience preferred)
• Successful completion of a motor vehicle record check
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in English
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. repeatedly
• Comfortable driving for extended periods
• Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
• Solid knowledge of roadways, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Must be comfortable working with animals of varying sizes
• Additional Requirements
• May require compliance with ongoing tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
• *This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
