Responsibilities

  • Build, and grow the Client Security team in China, setting China specific technical direction, and operational best practices.
  • Design, implement, and maintain client-side detections against third‑party cheating tools, modified clients, hooking frameworks, and emulators on Android and iOS.
  • Own the client security integration into Scopely's internal anti-cheat platforms working closely with teams to ensure detections are actionable and scalable.
  • Define and evolve the obfuscation and hardening strategy for China mobile builds (e.g., binary protection, anti-debugging, anti-tamper, integrity checks), including evaluating and integrating third‑party hardening vendors where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong coverage for the China mobile ecosystem, including:
  • distribution through multiple Android app stores and OEM devices,
  • diverse OS/ROM variants and rooted/jailbroken environments,
  • and local PC/emulator-based cheating patterns.
  • Contribute hands-on code (C++ plus Java/Kotlin and/or Objective‑C/Swift) in security‑sensitive paths, including detection logic, integrity checks, and secure client-server protocols.

Requirements

  • Experience in mobile security, game anti-cheat, or client-side security engineering, including time working directly on Android or iOS native code.
  • Direct experience with reverse engineering.
  • Deep hands-on experience with:
  • Android and IOS internals
  • hooking and instrumentation frameworks,
  • and common mobile client security attack vectors.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and at least one mobile native language (Java/Kotlin for Android or Objective‑C/Swift for iOS), including experience shipping production code in large apps.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and shipping client-side anti-cheat or integrity systems that integrate with server-side enforcement or analytics pipelines.
  • Prior experience ing or technically directing a small engineering team
  • Experience working with large-scale telemetry or anti-abuse pipelines and using data to tune detections and reduce false positives.
  • Professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English, written and spoken
