About the role

The Director, Commercial Distribution Operations, Europe is a regional leadership role responsible for establishing and leading the commercial distribution operating model across Europe. Set the regional strategy, operating model, and governance for commercial distribution operations across Europe. Lead end-to-end customer service and order-to-cash execution, including order management, invoicing, and issue resolution. Partner with Commercial and affiliate teams to align distribution capabilities with channel strategy, launch priorities, and customer requirements across Europe. Lead launch readiness for new products and markets, ensuring compliant and market-appropriate distribution and order-to-cash models are in place before go-live. Standardize regional processes, controls, and policies while enabling appropriate flexibility for local market requirements. Ensure distribution operations meet European GDP and quality requirements, including audit and inspection readiness and oversight of third-party logistics provider compliance. Oversee ERP-enabled processes and system interfaces to maintain operational control, reconciliation, and end-to-end visibility. Apply digital tools and analytics to improve visibility, strengthen exception management, and support timely decision-making. Establish KPIs, service levels, and reporting to monitor performance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement. Partner with Finance to support invoicing accuracy, revenue recognition, credit and collections governance, and month-end close requirements. Lead oversight of third-party logistics providers and other external partners, including performance management, governance, and issue resolution. Lead operational implementation of network changes, market expansions, and business process enhancements across the region. Serve as the senior escalation point for critical service, compliance, supply, and customer issues across European markets. Required Skills, Experience and Education: Lead and develop a regional commercial distribution operations organization, including direct leadership of Distribution Coordinators and oversight of capability building, team structure, and succession planning. 10+ years' experience in a similar role, Biotech experience preferred. Provide clear direction across a broad matrix of internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure coordinated execution across markets and functions. University degree or equivalent relevant experience. Significant leadership experience in pharmaceutical or medical device distribution, customer service, and order-to-cash operations. Proven ability to lead regional operations and build scalable commercial distribution models. Strong understanding of customer service, channel dynamics, launch readiness, and the commercial impact of distribution performance. Experience influencing matrix organizations and leading complex external partner networks. Strong knowledge of supply chain, quality, finance, and regulatory requirements relevant to pharmaceutical distribution in Europe.
