Registered Nurse II Human Genetics (Metabolic Disorders) Human Genetics - Metabolic Disorders Program Position Title: Registered Nurse II Schedule: Days | 32 Hours per Week (4 Days Per Week) One weekday off each week; day off may vary based on clinic schedules. Occasional flexibility required for earlier start times or extended clinic days. Schedule may be flexed accordingly when clinic needs require adjustments Hours: Typically, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with flexibility based on clinic needs Location: Burnet Campus, Mason, and Liberty Campuses, Travel between clinic locations is required. Make a Difference for Children with Rare Metabolic Disorders At Cincinnati Children's our Human Genetics team provides comprehensive care for children with rare inherited metabolic conditions. These disorders require highly specialized treatment, ongoing monitoring, and close collaboration among providers, dietitians, nurses, patients, and families. We are seeking a self-motivated, highly organized Registered Nurse II to join our Human Genetics Metabolic Disorders team. This role supports patients and families navigating complex diagnoses while serving as a critical member of a multidisciplinary care team. The nurse will work closely with three physician providers, two Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and two full-time metabolic dietitians to coordinate care and support patients throughout their treatment journey. About the Patient Population The Metabolic Disorders Program primarily serves infants and young children diagnosed with rare inherited metabolic disorders, including: Disorders of protein metabolism, including Phenylketonuria (PKU) Carbohydrate and energy metabolism disorders, including Glycogen Storage Disease Fatty Acid Oxidation Disorders Other rare inherited metabolic conditions Treatment plans may include: Specialized medical formulas Dietary supplements Prescription medications Nutritional management and monitoring Long-term care coordination Position Overview This role combines direct patient care, clinic support, care coordination, and office-based nursing responsibilities. The RN will attend clinic sessions alongside providers and play an essential role in ensuring patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, independent decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
