Teach classes and assist program chairperson with planning, organizing, and implementing program goals and activities related to clinical activities. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE A minimum of an Associate's Degree with a concentration in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or its equivalent; Bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent that is appropriate to the teaching assignment preferred ; a minimum of five years full-time professional experience as a general and OBGYN sonographer. Current documentation as a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with certifications in abdomen, OBGYN, and breast sonography , specific to the concentrations offered. Additional certification in echocardiography is preferred. Minimum qualifications as defined by the accrediting agency( ies ) JRC-DMS and CAAHEP . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Clinical Coordinator Duties: Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices. Implement all duties and responsibilities of faculty/ clinical coordinator, as assigned. Coordinate clinical education with didactic & laboratory education, as assigned by the program director. Assist with didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction, as assisgned , under the direction of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program chair. Coordinate clinical activities for the program, including campus laboratory and assigned clinical experiences, with the assistance of the program chair. Maintain open lines of communication with clinical instructors. Develop clinical schedules with the assistance of the program chair and agency clinical instructors. Identify new clinical sites and provide information for clinical education agreement negotiation to the office of the Dean, Health Sciences. Coordinate the evaluation of clinical sites. Provide systematic clinical supervision of students performing diagnostic medical sonography procedures. Assist program chair with formative and summative student clinical evaluations. Aptitude 1. Maintain current professional credentials and certifications as required in respective field . 2. Cooperate in the execution of the college, center, division, and program policies, procedures and guidelines. 3. Implement teaching strategies that engage learners in active learning. 4. Utilize cutting-edge technology in teaching in the clinical setting. 5. Complete required professional development activities by designated deadlines. 6. Maintain and provide current documentation of all professional requirements. Attitude 1. Conduct oneself in a professional manner appropriate to the time, place, and type of teaching/learning experience. 2. Consistently follow College policies and procedures. 3. Consistently follow Nursing and Allied Health procedures and guidelines. 4. Consistently follow program procedures and guidelines. 5. Respond to feedback in a receptive manner and incorporate feedback in developing annual goals. 9. Participate in student/faculty and faculty/administrator evaluations and performance review conferences as appropriate for role with input from clinical coordinator and program chair. 10. Maintain professional boundaries with students in all interactions. Attendance 1. Work assigned hours for each clinical assignments during each contracted semester 2. Meet all assigned clinical assignments. 3. Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for clinical days. 4. Notify immediate supervisor in a timely manner of any unplanned tardiness or absence. 5. Attend general faculty, center, division, and program meetings as schedule allows. Attention 1.
