About the role

As Senior Manager, Supply Chain Lead VPT , you'll serve as the critical conduit between our Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) and BMS's wider Global Supply Chain teams. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, you'll be accountable for ensuring the effective flow of supply chain information, driving performance improvements, and safeguarding continuity of supply - all in service of getting life-changing therapies to patients on time. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of operational excellence, stakeholder management, and strategic supply chain leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with supply chain counterparts at CMOs and internal BMS stakeholders to facilitate continuous performance improvement
  • Serve as the point of escalation for supply chain functions including Supply Planning Units, ExM Logistics, ExM Operations, and Inventory Control teams
  • Participate in Virtual Plant Team meetings, CMO face-to-face meetings, and lead supply chain related meetings with CMOs as required
  • Prepare and present supply chain topics at CMO business reviews, representing BMS Supply Chain at the relevant forums
  • Own CMO supply chain metrics - reporting performance, generating action items, and driving resolution of any issues below target
  • Review CMO forecasts for significant changes and communicate these effectively to the VPT and CMO
  • Determine supply priorities through interaction with wider ExM and Global Supply Chain teams and communicate these to the CMO
  • Understand and aid in the resolution of supplier capacity constraints in the short, medium, and long term
  • Proactively mitigate back orders and anticipated back orders, ensuring continuity of supply from the CMO
  • Communicate and coordinate the impact of supply delays, quality events, line shutdowns, and projects on supply to customers, engaging with other supply chain functions as necessary
  • Execute scenario planning and engage with Supply Planning Units to support scenario analysis
  • Identify and drive supply chain improvement projects with CMO and ExM teams
  • Contribute to the ExM S&OP process and SPU planning cycle as required
  • Ensure BMS supply chain requirements are represented in contracts with relevant CMOs and provide input into contract amendments and updates
  • Support new SKU introductions for finished goods to meet market requirements

Requirements

  • Education & Qualifications
  • APICS or related qualification
  • Project Management qualification or experience - desirable
  • Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience in a global manufacturing and supply environment, preferably in a similar role
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP and SAP BW reporting, and related data analysis tools
  • Detailed knowledge of Contract Manufacturing supply chain operations
  • Understanding of supply chain and regulatory operations in a cGMP environment
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical artwork management processes and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements and management of regulatory constraints
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritise, organise, and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines
  • Experience translating business challenges into digital or AI solutions - desirable
