Role Overview: The Corporate Tax Manager is a member of our Finance team (Corporate Tax group) and reports to the Director, Corporate Tax. The Corporate Tax Manager will assist with managing the company's tax planning, compliance and reporting functions, including research and analysis of tax technical matters. This involves preparing and/or reviewing the corporate income and indirect tax returns for the company, its subsidiaries and affiliates; engaging in practical, forward looking tax planning, and managing any audits or enquiries from various tax authorities; and, performing related research and analysis of tax technical matters arising in these areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- You will perform corporate tax work which can include preparing/reviewing tax provisions, income and other tax returns, tax research/tax consulting, tax planning and analysis, leading of tax engagements and managing tax audits.
- Review of tax processes.
- You will work on special projects on an as-needed basis.
- Perform tax planning to minimize tax with a good understanding of the business and operations.
- Provide tax support and tax advice to other groups such as other teams within Finance, Operations, Legal and other business units and areas as needed.
- Prepare/review quarterly and annual tax provisions. Ensure tax is minimized according to tax legislation and proactive tax planning with a good understanding of the business and operations
- Research tax issues requested by the various departments throughout the companies and provide recommendations.
- Assist with non-routine tax issues and projects as they arise.
Requirements
- University degree, preferably with focus on finance or accounting or relevant working experience
- At least two years of corporate tax experience. 4 years of working experience in accounting/tax, corporate tax experience required. Public accounting firm experience (big 4) preferred.
- Financial industry and transfer pricing tax experience an asset.
- CPA or equivalent, or Master of Taxation.
- Completion of CICA In-Depth Tax Courses Level 1 & 2.
- In-depth knowledge of income tax legislation and practices with respect to a variety of different types of corporate and other taxes
- Good knowledge of the Canadian and global investment industry
- Good knowledge of tax accounting standards
- Ability to plan projects, coordinate time requirements and manage personal work to deadlines
- You have a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and keen analytical skills.

Job Description Please note: Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings. This is a regular, full-time role. You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity's dynamic working arrangement. The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.
