About the role

This position is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management and Planning (OMAP), Division of Information Technology (DIT), Information Systems and Security Branch (BIS). The Branch of Information Systems and Security is responsible for providing computer systems, IT security, hardware, and software support to the OIG. You must meet the Basic Requirements listed in the Education Requirements section and the Specialized Experience to qualify for Supervisory IT Specialist, as described below. At the GS-14 level applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying specialized experience for this position includes: Enterprise Security and Compliance Management: Demonstrated experience overseeing cybersecurity and network defense programs, including implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF), ensuring enterprise-wide compliance with NIST standards, and managing network access controls to protect sensitive information and mission-critical systems. (OR) Network Operations and Incident Response Oversight: Experience directing complex network operations, infrastructure modernization, and advanced incident response. This includes guiding technical staff in troubleshooting, resolving complex vulnerabilities, maintaining system availability, and exercising direct supervisory authority to evaluate performance and align team tasks with organizational objectives. No Relocation Incentives will be offered. No Permanent Change of Station Incentives will be offered. This position is outside the Bargaining Unit. This position will not be filled until the Department's Placement Assistance Programs have been fully utilized.
