You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC (ACFT) in the FLEET READINESS CENTER MID ATLANTIC of FRC SE DET MIDLANT OCEANA. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Working independently to make decisions, plan the sheet metal job, show job responsibility and exercising initiative. Working from technical directives, drawings, manuals and other written or verbal instructions and assist equivalent and lower-graded sheet metal mechanic aircraft employees. Removing fixed sheet metal and composite structures from aircraft, disassembles structural and non-structural metal and composite componeents, repairs and reassembles same. Drilling prarts and rivets repairs or replacement together. Operating more complex hand and power machines, e.g., sliproll forming machines, box and pan breaks, rotary machines with extra forming rolls, and crimpers and beading machines. Completing operations by deburring, filing, drilling and smoothing parts by hand. Chemically treating surfaces reworked.
