AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Detroit, MI. Job Responsibilities: Design HVAC and plumbing for all building types including laboratories, clean rooms, healthcare, and hightech clients Design custom solutions for unique projects Interact with other engineers and develop calculations, construction drawings, and design reports under the supervision of a Senior Engineer Demonstrate critical thinking to quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings Prepare technical specification sections Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week 7% domestic travel required Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field of study and 4 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Engineer, or in a related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Engineer, or in a related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Utilizing ASHRAE standards and building codes Analyzing and developing layouts of HVAC systems for buildings Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure REVIT CAD load calculation software MS Excel Construction phase experience, including submittal reviews, on-site inspections, RFIs, and change orders Plumbing and Medical Gas design experience for hospitals and labs All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
